So, this is the story all about how my life got flipped, turned upside down, and I'd like to take a minute--just sit real still--I'll tell you how I became known as the Rajah of Cap Hill. Or at least that's what they apparently call the guy pictured above. He is the face of my new neighborhood. His real name is Brian Fairbrother and he works at the local sidewalk bar, Espresso Vivace. I've never met the guy, but I did recently take a trip to TurnHere. It's a cool new site that features short 3-5 minute videos on urban neighborhoods around the country. The clip about Capitol Hill is pretty cool, and it does a good job of showing off what we noticed and why we like the neighborhood so much. So, check out your own neighborhood or the next place you are thinking of visiting. You can check out the neighborhood that we used to live in, but we had to leave because it still had plenty of drug deals, crack heads, and knife fights to make two kids from DC feel uncomfortable. But, it did have a ton of great music venues and some killer restaurants... I looked at my kingdom, I finally will, sit on my throne as the Rajah of Cap Hill.

pretty darn cool, but there isn't a video for south-west DC, or my old stomping grouunds, Buckhead in Atlanta. Methinks I'll make a video of my own about capitol hill here in DC!!! oh, and wouldn't it be fun to make one of those...I'd have to like, have an "ode to staffers" section in it, just taping guys in ties getting plastered at places like Hawk n' Dove and such.

They are definitely a little thin on the DC coverage... only representing Dupont Circle. What's up with that? But, on second thought... there are already too many tourists around, so maybe we shouldn't tip them off to the other cool areas of the city. With great power comes great responsibility Mr. Parker. Use it wisely.

WHAT?!?! There's not a single video on Baltimore! I can't even begin to understand why someone wouldn't want to come to our beautiful city and document all of the lovely.... crime... and drugs. Maybe the camera people were shot on assignment? Very disappointing.

Well, if it's a Baltimore video you're looking for, Google Video has some winners. Here are three of my favorites:

Well Austin I am impressed. That nails all of the best sides of this fine city. Beer pong, bad karaoke, and dancing in the inner harbor. Now if we could only combine all three... then Baltimore would really be raking in the tourists.

I think you may be on to something... but I'm going to take it in a different direction. I mean, why limit bad Karaoke, dancing, and beer pong to just Baltimore. I say we take the show on the road with Beer Pong: The Rock Opera. Except the cast is a bunch of drunk people pulled out of the audience and have to compete, American Idol style in a combination of Karaoke, Dance Dance Revolution, and Beer Pong.
Say it with me now, "Ka-Ching!"
